Geomatix partnered with Inteliworx Technologies to customize the AGIX platform for NIRSAL, enabling satellite-based monitoring of farmland activities and management of geo-cooperatives across Nigeria.
Verifying agricultural activity at national scale
NIRSAL's mandate is to de-risk agricultural lending in Nigeria—helping farmers access credit by providing guarantees to financial institutions. But for the system to work, there needs to be reliable verification that farmers are actually cultivating the land they claim.
Manual verification doesn't scale. With thousands of farmers across dozens of states, NIRSAL needed a technology solution that could monitor farmland activities remotely, flag anomalies, and provide an auditable record for financial partners.
The system also needed to manage geo-cooperatives—groups of farmers organized geographically—and track their collective activities over time.
Combining satellite imagery with cooperative management
Working as a joint venture with Inteliworx Technologies, we customized the AGIX platform to meet NIRSAL's specific requirements. The platform integrates satellite imagery for farmland monitoring with a cooperative management module.
We designed workflows for farmer registration, land parcel mapping, seasonal monitoring, and exception reporting. The system was built to handle the scale of national deployment while remaining usable for field agents with limited technical training.
Integration with NIRSAL's existing systems ensured data could flow into their risk assessment and reporting processes.
